RCST School of Law is offering cutting-edge Law Course Programs while keeping pace with evolving global standards of law education. While passing written examinations and tests is the inevitable norm, we focus on preparing our students to apply what they have learned to their professional tasks when they begin their law careers.  We have designed and developed the specialist Law Courses uniquely tailored for students desiring to pursue professional careers as Lawyers, Judges, Law Professors and in-house Corporate Lawyers.

 

RCST Doctor of Laws program is the advanced level in our Fast-Track Law Degrees Programs.

Participating Students will abridge all the learning in Foundation and Intermediate Levels into the final disciplines of professional correction, instruction and direction culminating in preparing for the Doctorate Thesis in any field of the law as selected by the Participating Students.  Additional Learning objectives for the program are listed in Fast-Track Law Degrees Programs.

 

Participating students in Doctor of Law program will be mentored to independently design his or her own degree concentration (pathway) including writing Professional Research Papers (Courseworks) and a Doctoral Thesis. The program can be completed within a shorter period of 12-months depending on individual commitment. Our Distinguished Professor Judge Dr. Navin-Chandra Naidu, with other Learned Scholars will be teaching and mentoring students in achieving excellence in the fundamentals and practice of law with the How to Study Law system instead of the What to Study in Law

Program LEARNING Structure

This Practice-Integrated Doctor of Laws program is designed for accomplished individuals and professionals who have earned a minimum Master degree or equivalent qualifications in any disciplines of Humanities and Social Sciences. Candidate will study interesting and stimulating specialist topic covering the Roots and Shoots of Substantive Law to prepare Lawyers, Judges, Law Teachers, Legal Advisors for Professional services

 SPECIAL NOTES:

 

*Professional Research Courses (PDLAW910, PDLAW930, PDLAW950, PDLAW970):  

Students on the Doctoral program (SCDL Advanced Level) will write 4 separate Research Papers that will constitute the 4 Doctoral Courses listed above. The Research Papers Courseworks MUST correspond to a chosen Degree Concentration Major

 

Submit Proposals For Research Papers: Student is required to write separate Proposal for each Research Papers; the 3-pages proposals should be submitted to the Director/Secretary, School of Law. Upon approval of each proposal, the Nominated Supervisor will send a written respond to the student e.g. Faculty Comment and Instruction for each Research Proposal, then the student can start working on the Research Papers Courses

 

**Doctoral Thesis (SDLAW990): Students on the Doctoral program are required to write a comprehensive Doctoral Thesis as a Project on any selected field or area of Law as endorsed and supported by RCST School of Law. Students will be granted reasonable time to prepare the Thesis for final presentation. Students can decide and choose interesting practice-oriented titles for the Doctoral Thesis (topics must be pre-approved by the School of Law)

 

     

 

Graduation REQUIREMENTS

Doctor of Laws required successful completion of minimum 100-ECTS (European Credits Transfer System) above the Master degree. Student performance will be measured against acceptable overall academic achievements

 

Special Admission Requirements

Applicant must be at least 25-years old;

Possess Master Degree or equivalent from recognised institution

 Have at least 2-years of relevant working experience in Business, Technicals or Civil Services

Adults with lesser qualifications but possessed years' of experience will also be considered
